At the end of training, trainees will understand:
Planning & controlling adequate stock, efficient in cost using best practice tools.
Forecasting process, evaluating forecast error, bias & tracking signals.
The effect of forecast error to safety stock.
How to classify inventory & reduce stock.
Determine safety stock to anticipate random demand fluctuation, and variation of lead time.
Learning some tools in replenish inventory such as: order point, time phased order point ( order point for fluctuating demand), periodic review, visual review.
Quantity (Qty) order: how many qty to order to replenish the stock.
Learning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in measuring inventory performance.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Persons who are involved in deciding and managing inventory: material planners, demand planners, supply planners, supply chain managers.
Objective & responsible for Inventory Management.
Inventory cost: carrying cost, ordering cost, capacity related cost, stock out cost.
Type & classification of inventory.
Conflict in managing inventory between sales/marketing vs operation vs finance.
Forecasting technique: quantitative & qualitative, assumption in preparing forecast, forecast error, bias, tracking signal (exercise using excel spreadsheet).
Determine safety stock based on deviation of demand, & service level (exercise using excel spreadsheet).
Inventory replenishment technique: reorder point, periodic review, time phased order point, visual system (exercise using excel spreadsheet).
How many quantity (qty) to order: economic order qty, period order qty, lot for lot.
KPI inventory: inventory turnover, days of stock, cash to cash cycle.
Synchronous e-learning, Instructor-led & Facilitated e-learning
The course is scheduled and led by an instructor and/ or facilitator through an online learning platform. E‐learning content for individual study can be integrated with instructor’s lectures, individual assignments and collaborative activities among learners. Learners, facilitators and instructors can use communication tools such as chats, polls, application sharing and audio and video conferencing to communicate and work together.
Using interactive methods where trainees will have concept & practising using the concept with spreadsheet excel, using their own data for exercise.

Graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) majoring in electronics engineering, got MBA from Monash University. Certified CPIM (Certified Production Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CLTD (certified logistic transportation and distribution) and SCOR-P from APICS (Association for Operation Management - USA). Currently as master instructor from APICS for preparation certification of CPIM, CSCP and CLTD, deliver APICS training in Jakarta, Malaysia and Vietnam.
