As the market growing, demand becomes uncertain, the customer expects many varieties (SKU - stock keeping unit) with small quantity. It is a challenging situation for the supply chain in fulfilling the customer order with the right quantity, right quality, right time, right location.

. The process to balance between demand and supply (Capacity) in manufacturing

. 5 steps of Sales &Operation Planning(S&OP)

. Calculate capacity in sales & operation plan (Resource Plan)&in master scheduling process

. How to make master production schedule based on agreed production plan (Volume) quantity on S&OP

MAIN POINTS

- Sales operation plan: balancing demand & supply in the product family, 5 steps of S&OP

- Different between S&OP in make-to-stock (MTS) & make-to-order (MTO)

- Demand planning: prepare a forecast for product family using pyramid forecasting &Policy in handling big & unanticipated demand

- Calculate resource plan for S&OP using the bill of resource &Simulate S&OP for make to stock & make to order

- Master scheduling: break down production plan from S&OP become weekly schedule for each individual item (SKU) according to customer request

- Preparing master production schedule MPS

- Time fence to anticipate changing in MPS (master production schedule)

- Role of the planner in making MPS&KPI (key performance indicator ) in the master scheduling process
